Every year the first full week of October is dedicated to Fire Prevention. This is in remembrance of the Great Chicago Fire that happened October 10, 1871.
This year, the Covert Township Fire Department visited the Covert Public Schools and spoke to every grade from pre-kindergarten to the Senior Class. Several of the high school classes got to gear up and put out fire! There were several teachers that wanted to try it out as well!
